Palin is at once the sexiest and the riskiest brand in the Republican Party. Her appeal to people in the party (and in the country) who share her convictions and resentments is profound. The fascination is viral, and global.

I snagged this from the photos a friend of mine has up on facebook. She’s from Pea Ridge, but her and her husband went to Ouachita. They still feel the Arkansas love though.

I wish Barrett and Aaron and Katie would each buy one of these shirts and wear them when they’re together at U of A later this month…

And, please take a photo or two.

How do you start to get rid of these things? Part of me wants to start putting things in trash bags without thinking about the consequences, but I’m the “What if I need this at some point?” kind of person. And a lot of my stuff has memories attached to it that I don’t want to just throw away.

Please let me know if have any insight to getting to this magical place called ‘minimalism’. I might be approaching it like ripping off a band-aid, but I think that is the only way it might work for me.

Disclaimer: There are certain items, mainly furniture, that I am under contract with my mother to never throw away. Mom, do not worry, I won’t do anything stupid. Also, I haven’t even put on pants today so I’m not too concerned about any of this, really.

Thursday Night

Thursday Night

Photo

Ok, I want to go to Chicago now.

(Physically not emotionally?)

If you are wondering where <strike>most</strike> all of the science for these genetically manufactured chickens come from.. well… Woooo Pig Sooie. Click the photo to see even more of these ‘research’ facilities if you so desire. The photo above kind of makes that building look smaller than it really is as it takes up practically an entire hill-side.

JOHN W. TYSON BUILDING (above photo) - The 112,000-square-foot John W. Tyson building was dedicated at a ceremony for the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science on September 10, 1995. The Center of Excellence is the largest teaching and research facility on the University of Arkansas campus. It is comprised of a lab wing, atrium and office wing. The lab wing has 100 laboratory modules, environmental chambers, walk-in freezers and coolers, teachng labs and computer lab, kitchen and tasting booths for sensory evaluation and other research support facilities. The office wing has space for faculty, support staff and graduate student offices. The wings are connected by the atrium, which includes the Pioneer Room, conference rooms, resource rooms, and lounge areas. The atrium also opens into the Leland Tollett Auditorium. The Center of Excellence for Poultry Science building was made possible by $10 million in federal grants sponsored by Sen. Dale Bumpers, $5 million from the Arkansas College Bond Issue Program approved in a state-wide election, and $5 million from Arkansas industries. In addition to the John W. Tyson building, the $20 million building program also included a 10,000-square-foot pilot processing plant.

nycmeetups:

Theoretically, it could vastly reduce the bandwidth costs of ISPs, which are struggling to keep up with the rapidly growing amount of traffic moving through the ‘Net, much of it because of illegal piracy.

Participating computer owners could use the money deposited into their account to buy and download songs, TV shows or movies.

Users are sure to be skeptical, especially since the founders of Pirate Bay not only flouted copyright laws but publicly derided them on numerous occasions. Peter Sunde, Gottfrid Svartholm Warg, Fredrik Neij and Carl Lundstrom were convicted in April of facilitating copyright violations and ordered to pay plaintiffs, including Fox, Warner Bros. and EMI, $3.6 million.

The men have refused to pay the fine while they appeal. They won’t be joining Global Gaming Factory, which is acquiring the Pirate Bay domain name only. They recently started work on a YouTube-like video sharing site called VideoBay that is currently in an early testing phase.

Pandeya said his company plans to run the site with technology it has acquired from a Swedish software company called Peerialism for $13 million.
