Steve Phillips was fired from ESPN for this sex scandal business that the NY Post printed first, but Deadspin happily fueled.

Just a thought to Dave’s humorous point above.  Is there any major corporation that hasn’t had a sex scandal?  Why are we so miffed that it was ESPN?  Why doesn’t someone go infiltrate Wal*Mart or some mega church somewhere.  That would be more surprising and interesting to me than a sports dude having sex with an assistant.  But then again, those wouldn’t mean anything to Deadspin, obviously.

The other thing that didn’t make any sense to me was while Daulerio was busy posting every email he could find that contained the words “ESPN” and “blow job”, Dashiell Bennett was busy doing some investigative journalism surrounding the Sports Fan Coalition.  So you take the time to weed out the rumors regarding our beloved ability to watch sports on cable but allegations about women sleeping their way to the top is free game?
