“Feeding wild raccoons in your backyard can be a highly rewarding experience indeed. You can watch raccoons for hours on end and never tire of their antics.”
I wasn’t expecting this article when looking up what raccoons eat just now!? The best tip, is to put out multipe plates of food to avoid fights!
I skimmed through this article, but this is the worst idea I’ve seen in a long time. Raccoons are known to hide out in attics, come inside your house, knock over trash cans, make a huge ass mess - all in search for food. An ex of mine actually had multiple raccoons living in his attic. So feeding them? Bad idea. Just like feeding a stray kitten/dog is a bad idea unless you want them to stay forever. Raccoons are worse. You may have one or two for awhile, but then others are going to catch wind of what’s going down at your crib, and all of a sudden the entire extended family is looking for Sunday dinner on your back patio. They may be cute, but piss them off and they aren’t as cute anymore.
Bottom line - stick with birds and squirrels (maybe).
